HIV Prevention Program Launches New Statewide Minority Media Campaign
The HIV Prevention Program launched its statewide minority media campaign May 1, 2017. The campaign theme is Protect Yourself. Components of the campaign include broadcast radio, digital/mobile advertising, out-of-home advertising (billboards, etc.), a new website, social media, and public outreach events.
National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, sponsored by the Office of Women’s Health of the Department of Health and Human Services, is observed on March 10. The goals of this event are to raise awareness about the need for all women, especially pregnant women, to be tested and treated for HIV.
National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is observed each year on March 20. This day is an opportunity for people across the United States to learn about HIV/AIDS, the need for HIV testing among Native Americans, and ways that everyone can help decrease the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS in their own communities.
